Thanks to my sister, Nancy Williams, in Oregon, for forwarding these proofreading marks with credit to author and University of Nebraska faculty mentor, Marya Hornbacher’s online site. If you or I used these, I wonder what kind of books we would write. It might be worth trying!
Are there other proofreading marks you think should be added? Feel free to suggest and post them here. Meanwhile, I’m working on final edits for my next story, Christmas Tree Wars, which releases October 5th. Here is its great cover. Love it! Stay tuned for so much fun! And wishing you a great summer!

Funny! I recognized the first one from shorthand…the others, not so much. lol

You’re right, it is from trusty shorthand. Thanks!

Love those editing marks! I had a friend who told me my story had a “was garden”. I always think of that when I look for repeated words. The cover is gorgeous!

Commending a story has a “was garden” is a clever way of describing recurring weeds 🙂 I love the cover, too. That is Linda Fulkerson at her best!
