“Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…” Isaiah 9:6

The Lord saw our need, heard humanity’s cry, and sent his son as Bethlehem’s babe to help us—not as a king or a military commander wielding outward power.
One boy on the Mount of Beatitudes gave all that he had and his multiplied lunch fed 5000 men plus their families with plenty of leftovers. The Little Drummer Boy, though a fictional song this time of year is about another lad who gave all that he had: “I’ll play my drum for Him, I’ll play my best for Him pa rum pum pum pum …”
When Jesus was seated on the Mount of Beatitudes teaching Kingdom truths, it was precious children desiring time with Him that he welcomed onto his lap.
The Lord has given us everything. What gifts can we offer in return? Our devotion, praise, and offerings are a start. We can add love, thanks, talents, obedience, intercession for others, and more.
Another beloved carol at this time of year is The Twelve Days of Christmas. I’d like to change that to The 365 Days of Christmas!
As we prepare and count down these days before Christmas, one thing I’m thankful for is the area writers I’ve been teaching in the Milaca, Minnesota library now for three years. This photo shows them having an Open House presenting their work and beautifully encouraging one another.
Christmas ends up being more about giving than any gift we might receive. May your Christmas be giftwrapped with the things that mean most in life. Those memories fill our hearts forever.

P.S. Christmas is a GREAT time for reading. If you haven’t read The Christmas Tree Wars, find it in print, Kindle, or Kindle Unlimited.
