I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and that all leftovers reappeared in delicious combinations. Now we’re rushing toward Christmas with gift-buying in full swing.
Consider buying books in all forms! And cozy winter flannels.
As a lifelong teacher who has taught in several countries, I’m blessed to see my students go far and do well. I love staying in touch and visiting them in their home nations as well as welcoming them to mine.
One of my former students, Jenny Myers, is a great success story.
I loved teaching her and cheering her on now as a professional audiobook producer with credits and contracts from impressive publishing companies. I’m delighted Jenny produced one of my books in audio. She finished A Traveling Grandma’s Guide to Israel: Adventures, Fit, and Wisdom, and it’s awaiting final approval for release. It should be available to order on Amazon by the time you read this.
Read Jenny’s bio on her website, jennyaudio.com, and listen to the excellent audio samples posted there. She’s done a great job reading mine!
Jenny’s made me aware that audio books are stories read with our ears. How cozy and convenient is that? It’s like wearing flannel each fall.
I make that wardrobe adjustment even in Mississippi, though a few days are cool enough.
The fabric originated in 17th-century Wales made from wool which doesn’t ignite or burn easily compared to synthetics which flame quickly and dangerously. (I’ve tested them both. It’s true.) These days, flannel is often blended with cotton for durability, versatility, and affordability. Its loose weave makes it comfortable and it wicks perspiration away. Most of us love flannel’s coziness and have it in our closet.
We have similar options in books. Old school enthusiasts love holding printed pages in our hands. Others migrate to eBooks or hybrid reading. Now audiobooks join the mix and find honored places in homes, travel, and all kinds of situations.
My children’s picture books, historic novels, and Israel book are in print and eBooks and easy for you to purchase from Amazon, my website, or Barnes & Noble.
Now I’m thrilled to add an audio production. Thanks, Jenny!
Which kind of reading do you prefer? Eyes? Ears? Fingers turning pages? There’s no single right answer. Tell me what you like in the comments below.
Have great remaining days leading up to Christmas.
Love, Delores
