Northern Light

Spring comes late in northern regions but the days last longer until on the summer solstice, evening light lingers almost until midnight and the sun rises early. People generally feel less like sleeping and have more energy when there’s more light. Here are photos of a northern Minnesota lake with magical light at 6 pm and several more of the state’s gorgeous, fragrant lilacs blooming everywhere.

My wheels have finally stopped turning. I’ve completed the three-day drive back to Minnesota from the Mid-South and will reach my farm later today. Kind Amish neighbors have phoned to check on my progress. I’ll be glad to see them.

I’ll keep this post short as I’m in transition but will include more details next time.
